soft links; windows

Not long ago, I realized that Windows now has some kind of soft links like *nix has it since forever. As usual Windows has several implementations each with different purposes in mind and not only one or two. There are shortcuts, junctions and something new under vista. Well, I just want to link some directories in my test server environment, so junctions are just fine for me.

The command-line freak I often (not always ;-) am, I like junction (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896768.aspx) best. It's a pretty straight forward tool. Small. Intuitive. So far it works for me.
