decider.pl
We talked about the decider today. The decider is supposed to select the media resources which shall be published. We agreed to use only one algorithm. By this I mean a relatively complex decision process and NOT a simple mapping rule, as for example:
if string "alpha" in field a then publish this resource to alpha.
The others don't want an individual selection and marking in each and every record. I am pretty sure this algorithm will not be a long lasting procedure, because before long somebody will want either include or exclude a specific resource, but for the time being it might be enough.
Anyways there are two different ways. The one with the fake importer and the manual input. Should the decider work on both? I am not sure at this moment, maybe the fake importer could already produce this information.
Changes in MPX
I guess I will change mpx for this. I will add two new attributes to multimediaobjekt. @public and @priority. Public can be yes or no or have any string that identifies a specific publication right aim. @priority should have a number and 1 shall mark the most important picture. If no, then order is not specified.
More details
So, decider has to walk thru mpx and add these two attributes based on the algorithm. Input and output is mpx.
- open question: Take only one image or take more than one? B. wants multiple resources: take each and every resource
- preferred image:
- in case there is an image which ends on "_A" at the end of file name. This is always public (freigegeben). More details below
- If there is only one image im Multimedia, take that one.
- If there no other rule fits take the standard image (standardbild).
- Should we have a switch to exclude images?
- The easiest case: If there is no image, decider cannot decide on one.
