PHP5 with cygwin and apache2

I want to make my laptop test environment as much as possible look like my server environment, but I do not want to install linux on my laptop. I probably should use a different pc with linux on it. I know.

Nowadays, it is actually relatively easy to install php5.2 via cygports. Just follow directions from cygport and add the following to httpd.conf /etc/apache2/httpd.conf:

LoadModule php5_module "C:/Program Files/php/php5apache2_2.dll"

The Gramophone Collection of the Phonogram Archive in Berlin on the Web: Samples from nearly every disk available

I wrote this little piece in June in a hurry to announce an important event: the publication of more than 2000 audio samples from the music archive of the Ethnological Museum on the DISMARC platform. However, the piece didn't get published as originally intended. While I don't think that this short text constitutes a particularly nice piece of writing, I do think that that the world is slightly better off with than without it, so I thought I put it on my website.

This site was hacked

Today, I came back to this site and it was hacked by Woltaj. I wonder why? Probably the outdated way I upload stuff. I really need to get rid of this hosting company. By the way, some images were deleted. Otherwise it looks still okay. I should say that this has been a relatively friendly hacker.

More modules

More modules...

I seem to need taxonomy menu  (http://drupal.org/project/taxonomy_menu), possibly with DHTML (http://drupal.org/project/dhtml_menu) to make my idea of using a vocabulary for navigation to work. I will give it a try.

Also found a nice site dedicated to drupal modules:

Another day with drupal...

Ahhh, another whole day "wasted" on drupal. Well, at least some things accomplished

  • my backup script works partially. Not very nice though ... basically, I dont know how to backup my remote db using a script. I seem not to have necessary rights on the server to run mysqldump.

  • update drupal 6.3 to 6.4

  • i installed htaccess file. Didn't do this for a long time...
