Part IV: MPX to Museumdat

My notes on converting MPX to Museumdat.

  • Use mpx2mdat....xsl to transform mpx.lvl3 to museumdat
  • cpMdatResources.pl seems to be the version I used in the museum. It changes the path and copies the images.
TODO:I should include the creation of thumbs and their corresponding listing in the museumdat-xml file.

For more info on museumdat see www.museumdat.org

Drupal Theming

So todayMarinelli Strange TextMarinelli Strange Text I battled with theming for the first time. I like the Marinelli theme, but the text behaves unlike standard Drupal themes, so I decided to make that more conform to Drupal standards. Attached is the result. I changed the ul and ol li as well as blockquote. Currently, Marinelli tends to display text a little awkward by default.

Exporting MPX, Part III (The Result)

For the ethnoArc project I created an XML export from the museum's database MuseumPlus by Zetcom (http://www.zetcom.ch/).

This format mimicks the internal structure. I will upload the current XSD to this blog.

It basically looks like this

Boris Groys: Gesamtkunstwerk Stalin

Groys, Boris. Gesamtkunstwerk Stalin: Die gespaltene Kultur in der Sowjetunion. München: Hanser, 1988.

Books by B. Groys

Since I liked Groys's books on Socialist Realism in Stalin's era, I compiled this lists of his publications. Currently, I am interested in where the Socialist Realist topic comes up again in his writing and how it changed over the last 20 years. I include edited volumes, also.

There are still a lot of other books edited and written by Groys. It makes no sense to list them all.

Introductions to Ethnomusicology

For a very long time, I am planning to assemble a list of Introductions to Ethnomusicology in German and English. The idea is to get an historiographical overview of ethnomusicology through the development in this genre.

What should count as an introduction for this purpose?

Music and Politics - List

I recently tried to get an overview of basic texts in the field of "Music and Politics" with a special focus on Eastern Europe (including Russia) and totalitarian systems.
