Recently, I installed search files http://drupal.org/project/search_files and noticed that I still cannot search my docx files. So here my first attempt to solve the problem. A little perl script that reads in docx, unzips it, and displays the content in no particular order using libxml. It's my first attempt. Version 0.001 after a few minutes.
Found a similar project: http://docx2txt.sourceforge.net
which uses
Recently, Martin has transferred recordings from 108 DATs to hard disk. Unfortunately, he didn't preserve the ids on the DATs, but instead segmented the audio according to tracks according to silence. This is not the same, since ids are sometimes one and sometimes two tracks on these dats. Thing is, the recordings were originally stored on 78s. The ids consistently describe these records, i.e. for each record has one id, no matter how many sides it has.
I just notice that I still have problems with Drupal menus. I had hoped that my last revelation (http://www.mauricemengel.de/content/drupal-taxonomy-menus) had solved all possible problems. But apparently I need a little more insight in Drupal's menu system and the trail.
I write down here some notes on Folk Orchestras. Actually only bibliographic notes. Afterwards I will write down, what I find.
About the orchestra Barbu Lautaru
Prichici, Constantin Gheorghe. 1954. "Despre activitatea orchestrei "Barbu Lăutaru"." Muzica 4(7-8):29–35. [cit:1558].
Anonymus. 1959. "Cu orchestra 'Barbu Lăutaru' în Uniunea Sovietică." Revista de Folclor 4(3-4):102–103. [cit:51].
Here is an overview of the series Din Viaţa Poporlui as far as I could find it. I just write it down here in order not to have to look for it again!

Editor: Edited by the Romanian Academy. (I don't know the name of the historical name of the Academy at the time and if it changed. If I remember correctly it has some signifier of the monarchy in its title).
Cases: These are the ones I currently have in my database. Sorry for the inconsistent cases.
I thought it would be nice to organize the notes I take for my dissertation. Actually, I do not want to take not any kind of notes, but notes which are sorted according to a date. I started to do this in excel, but got a annoyed. I don't see a way to deal with multiple timelines.
At this point, I have the following fields
I am determined to compile a list of music ethnographies published since 1990. No comprehensiveness intended. Now, the list consists mainly of the Alan Merriam Prize winners (see http://webdb.iu.edu/sem/scripts/prizes/prizesdetail.cfm?pID=4). Hopefully it will grow somewhat indipendent over time:
Update: Now in chronological order, maybe it facilitates a historical perspective. First book or second seem to be well-established categories in the US.

I have finally started to make a citavi citation style for ethnomusicology based on APA. Currently, it is still faulty and has still many shortcommings, but the next time I improve it should be beta already. At least this is what I hope. I upload it anyways, so I will be reminded of the current state the next time I work on it.
Model for this style is the bibliography used in the SEM's journal Ethnomusicology.
PS: Capitlization. Last time I looked, it seemed they take titles in mostly capital letters.
I just noticed that virtualDub has vob support (mpeg2) since a couple of years now: http://home.comcast.net/~fcchandler/Plugins/MPEG2/index.html
For AC3 i try http://www.free-codecs.com/AC-3_ACM_Decompressor_download.htm
Works nicely as usual with VirtualDub!
